WiFi Firewall Permissions

Your Aretas WiFi enabled sensor can connect to most WiFi routers. However, your WiFi router needs to have DHCP enabled and there is one outside host that the unit needs to connect to in order to send sensor readings to the Cloud.

If your firewall restricts outbound connections, your WIFi enabled Aretas devices needs to access one or both of the following ports:

Hostname: iot.aretas.ca

TCP port: 443 (for SSL enabled connections)

TCP port: 80 (for HTTP-only connections)

Your firewall / router may also need DNS enabled internally so the WIFi enabled \Aretas sensor can do a hostname lookup for iot.aretas.ca
